UPDATED 4/13/2010:

Got a question about "The Spectacular Spider-Man"?  Check here and see if this helps give you fans some answers.

Q: Is there going to be a season three?
A: Sadly, no.  On July 22nd, 2009, Sony Entertainment (which has the film rights to Spider-Man) gave the television rights for Spider-Man back to Marvel and as of August 31st, 2009, Marvel Comics was bought by Disney.  So Marvel and Disney have owned the television rights to Spider-Man again from then on.  Now that they have the rights, they will not continue "The Spectacular Spider-Man".  They will air a new cartoon, "Ultimate Spider-Man", based on the Ultimate version of the character.

Q: Who is involved with "Ultimate Spider-Man"?
A: I'm not sure.  Marvel has yet to announce who will be working on the show and who will do voices for the characters.

Q: Which characters will be on "Ultimate Spider-Man"?
A: There was a teaser image released by Marvel, that shows shadowy renditions of Ultimate Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Nick Fury, as well as a few I didn't quite recognize.  One is likely Iron Man.

Q: So wait, you said Nick Fury and Iron Man.  You mean guest-heroes will be featured on this show, unlike "The Spectacular Spider-Man"?
A: Yes.  Expect to see the Ultimate versions of Marvel heroes, but exactly who right now is unclear.

Q: Why is "The Spectacular Spider-Man" being replaced by "Ultimate Spider-Man"?
A: My guess: to go along with the new 3-D "Spider-Man" movie Marvel and Sony are working on for summer 2012.  It makes sense, since the new film will also reportedly be based on the "Ultimate Spider-Man" comic series.  Also, since Marvel and Disney got the TV rights back to Spider-Man from Sony, it was also probably easier to make their own all-new show than continue a show that was originally done by a different company.  But even so, I'm still disappointed that "Spectacular" didn't get a third season pick-up.

Q: Is it true there's deleted footage from season one and two of "The Spectacular Spider-Man"?
A: I don't know about season two, but yes, Mr. Weisman acknowledged on his Ask Greg section that there were a few scenes cut out from all of the episodes from season one to due time restrictions.  I remember that he specifically mentioned a scene in "The Invisible Hand" where the Rhino is looking for Peter Parker, but when he checks the phone book, there are like seven or so men named Peter Parker that Rhino goes to see in order to find Peter.  These scenes aren't on any of the DVDs for season one, not even the boxed set.  They could be released on a future DVD, but don't quote me on that.

Q: Why do you only mention season one information on your fan site and not anything in regards to season two?
A:
It's simple - I haven't SEEN season two yet.  You see, I only get a select number of channels from my cable company and I don't get Disney XD.  As I can barely make ends meet as it, I don't have the money to get more channels by a cable box or whatever.  I'm going to be waiting longer than most to see the new episodes that are airing on Disney XD and until I see season two episodes, I won't be able to update this site until I do watch them.  Sorry.

Q: Now that "The Spectacular Spider-Man" has ended, what happens to this site?
A: Nothing.  I have no plans to take down this site.  I still have yet to see season two's episodes, so watching them will be new for me.  I also fully intend to update this site with new features, images, reviews, etc., over the next few months.  But it's a shame that Marvel will not continue this brilliant, brilliant animated series...
